REPORT OF ST. MARY’S SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, BARWANI MARCH 2021 TO MARCH 2022

The academic session 2021 - 2022 begun with the same fear as of last session due to Covid-19. Still students, parents and staff had a fear of pandemic. Government did not want to take a risk to open the school for the students. So it was decided to start the new session in online mode. This Academic session many of our sisters got transferred. I sincerely thank Sr.Jyoti, Sr. Sorojini, Sr. Sophia and Sr. Anandini for their selfless service which each one of them rendered in St. Mary’s. We are ever grateful to all dear sisters. Sr. Catherine, Sr.Sarita, Sr. Sumanti and Sr. Priti Manjusha joined the school from this session.

Sr. Rajni Came in the month December 2021 to replace Sr. Sumanti in little planet.

New Session: - New academic session began only on 7th June 2021 for classes X to XII and on 23rd June 2021 for Nursery to VIII. Teachers came to the school to take online class.

New Admissions & TC: - KG section- 37, XI- 106, I – IX- 70 = 213 Nearly 98 students took TC.


SCHOLASTIC UNDERTAKINGS:

  1. Due to Covid -19 we decide to take the exams online. Students had 3 Periodic test of 20 marks and 2 Terms of 70 marks. Only the term-2 exam for class I –IX & XI was taken offline.
  2. Government gave permission to open the school for the students of X - XII.
    • We began offline classes for class X & XII from 17th August 2021.
    • VI –IX from 6th September 2021
    • I – V from 6th December 2021
      We continued online classes for Nursery to V.
  3. Suddenly Government ordered to close the school from 15th to 30th January 2022 due to the rise of Covid cases in the state/ district. We really found so difficult to conduct classes for the students or to run the school smoothly.
  4. National Achievement Survey (NAS) was conducted all over India on 12th November 2021. St.Mary’s School was the custodian school for Barwani District. The charge for the distribution of the Question Paper and handing over the answer sheet to Sendhwa hear quarter was given to Sr. Celima Principal – St.Mary’s and to Mr. Sunil Purohit, Vice Principal of Eklavya School Barwani.
  5. In the session 2021-22 CBSE board decided to take board exam for X & XII in two terms with 50% of syllabus each. Board Term-1 exam began from 16th November to 21st December 2021. St.Mary’s school was allotted for 3 schools as an exam centre. Students of Saket Int. School Anjed, Kendriya Vidyalaya Barwani and Rukmani Academy Barwani came to write Board Exam to our school. X- 169, XII-151= 320. From St. Mary’s X-108 & XII-79 students are writing board exam in Kendriya Vidyalaya Barwani. Sr. Celima was appointed as a Centre Superintendent & Mr. Sunil Purohit of Eklavya School was appointed as Observer for Term 1 exam.
    Students are writing Term II exam from 26th April to 13th June 2022. Our school remains the centre for the same schools. (Total Students326)
  6. During Lockdown our students participated in many online Quiz, Drawing, Singing, Dancing, Music and Olympiads. Many received prizes and medals.
  7. We too conducted many activities and competition when students came to the school. ( Class & house wise board decoration, reading and writing competition & games)
  8. Four of our teachers left the school. Two got Government Job, one left due to her husband’s transfer and one was asked to leave. We took only two teachers. For other two we managed with our own teachers & sisters.


CO-SCHOLASTIC UNDERTAKINGS:

  1. This session all National festivals and all the religion festivals were celebrated virtually from the school to teach the students to respect every human being in spite of their differences. Students were given Projects, Activities and different creative ways to celebrate the festivals.
  2. On 4th September 2021 Teacher’s day was celebrated by the students of class X & XII. Students prepared a good program.
  3. On 23rd December 2021 Christmas celebration was organized for the students and the staff. Students gave the message of the Birth of Christ by small skit & dance. Sweets and cakes were distributed for the students and staff.
  4. On 3rd January 2022 Vaccination program began for the age group of 16 -18. Our students of class X – XII were vaccinated. In Barwani, St. Mary’s Se. Sec. School was selected as the vaccination centre, which was inaugurated on the same day by Mr. Shivraj Singh Varma District collector, Mr. Premsingh MLA, Mr. Kushal Singh Dodwe CMO, and SDM. Students welcomed them with March past and drum. Manager & Principal welcomed Collector and MLA and other officials with saplings. The first Vaccination was put for the student of class 11th in the presence of all. Collector was happy to see the students in discipline and even he interacted with them. He too was happy to see the school infrastructure.
  5. On 12th February 2022, farewell was given to 79 students of class XII. The whole program was arranged, sponsored and prepared by the teachers and students of class XI.
  6. We thank Sr. Mychelin for her selfless service to St. Mary’s School for past 6 years. 3 years as English teacher and 3 years as a manager and teachers. On 23rd March 2022 farewell was given to Sr. Mychelin form the school.

SEMINARS:

  1. Training session was held in St.Mary’s school for the Observers and Centre Superintendents for National Achievement Serve (NAS). Mr. Sanjay Tomar, DEO Barwani and Mr. Rajkumar Ajmera (Nodal In charge, Sendhwa came to give training to the teachers. All were Government and Private school teachers. Nearly 350 teachers’ attained the seminar. From St. Mary’s school 15 teachers went for NAS duty to different school of Barwani district.
  2. Teachers of our school attained training sessions organized by CBSE board in different time of different subjects.
  3. Sr. Celima attained 2 sessions of pedagogical seminar organized by CBSE.
  4. Sr. Celima attended Nimar Sahodaya meeting virtually.

The School conducted many Scholastic and Co-Scholastic activities in the school. During lockdown many competitions, activities were organized by the different clubs, subject and class teachers. Even Teachers merged the photos of the activities and made the videos, which was sent in the class Whatsapp groups. The students were found more enthusiastic and energetic to participate both online & offline activities.


Annual Result:

  1. On 12th March 2022 result was declared for class IX & XI. New session for X & XII began from 15th March 2022
  2. On 29th and 30th March 2022 Annual result was declared for class Nursery to VIII. New session (2022-23) for Class Nursery to IX began from 5th April 2022.
  3. On the result day parents were shown the answer sheets of the student. These arrangements were made in order to avoid confusion and conflict between teachers and parents and Principal.


Result of Academic Session2020-2021:

Annual Result of X & XII for session 2020-2021 was prepared by the school. It was on the basis of the exams written by the students during lockdown and of the marks of class IX & XI. Due to the high wave of Covid19 there was no annual written exam for the students. CBSE sent a circular to crate the school Result committee to prepare the result for our own students. Principal along with the five main subject teachers were in the result committee. After preparing the result in the given format it was send to the Board and then Board announced the board result. Our Students’ passes with 100% result.

MISCELLANEOUS:

St.Mary’s school has taken a new look with all the necessary facilities.
The present need of the school is the installation of the fire safety.


I thank then Provincial Sr.Grace and the Team and present Provincial Sr. Stella and the team for trusting me. Thank you for all your guidance, support and encouragement you give me time to time. Especially I would like to thank Sr. Grace, Sr. Stella, Sr. Anjely and Sr. Suma for your timely support, Guidance, corrections and the trust which you have shown on me. I too thank Sr.Mychelin, Sr. Sherly and every sisters of Maria Nivas community for your support and help to carry out my responsibility in my apostolate.
